The Enneagram and leadership workshops gave me deeper self-awareness and practical tools.

 

We've developed a stronger sense of unity and care.  We seem to work together more smoothly now, and feel more connected as a team. I’ve grown in my leadership, and my team is thriving because of it.

Old Mutual, is a leading pan-African financial services group with over 27,000 employees across 13 countries. The company centralised its risk management function into a centre of excellence, bringing together a large, diverse but disconnected team of over 150 people. Initially, the team struggled with cohesion and meeting delivery expectations, which created frustration at the executive leadership level. To help the new structure work we needed to strengthen trust, alignment, and connection.

Approach

We used the Enneagram as a tool to help the team understand each other and build stronger relationships. I started working with the executive leadership team first, before expanding the work to their managers and broader teams.

 

I've now been partnering with this team for more than six years.  Offering all of ARIA's services, depending on the current team needs.  Every year we plan for executive coaching, team leadership coaching, enneagram assessments for new joiners, support of a young leaders’ programme and so much more.   

Impact

  • As an external coach I am not part of the system which enables trust and insight.

  • By understanding the system that the team is working within, I am able to support each team member to develop themselves and deliver.

  • The team is now stronger, connected and able to deliver cross-functional value.

  • Psychological safety became the foundation for trust and performance.

  • Ongoing leadership development has ensured lasting impact.
